A redeveloped former hospital site is now home to a new primary school and apartments featuring stunning outdoor spaces.
A wide range of cycle parking options were designed and manufactured for 100 Putney Common and Oasis Academy Putney by Broxap Street Furniture in partnership with client Durkan Limited.
Seating is also available throughout the development, with Durkan making use of our timber, steel and concrete designs to complement the buildings’ contemporary construction.
A customised version of our Cambridge Junior Cycle Shelter provides cover for 52 cycles, with parking available through the installation of six Sheffield Cycle Racks.
A single sided steel Scooter Rack, galvanised and powder coated Anthracite Grey to match the Cambridge Junior Shelter, has parking spaces for 10 scooters.
The apartments feature basement parking for residents, with additional Sheffield Cycle Racks installed in this area offering capacity for 28 bikes.
Visitor parking includes a Sheffield Cycle Rack for eight bikes.
The 24-apartment development helped to finance the school building, allowing Wandsworth Council to create much needed additional education places while bringing a previously derelict site back into use.
Putney Hospital closed in 1999. The homes are built on a site adjoining the school where the former nurses’ accommodation block was situated.
Just over half the land which was used by the hospital was needed for the new developments, with the remainder grassed over to form part of Putney Lower Common.
The landscaped areas at 100 Putney Common feature freestanding Whitwell Benches in bespoke layouts to follow the lines of brick planters.
Eight two-metre long Litchard Benches line a walkway through the site, while communal gardens benefit from our concrete Bredbury Bench and Fallowfield Seats.
