Working for F. Simpson (Leicester) Ltd. on their Outdoor Pursuit Centre located in Loughborough Road, Broxap were requested to design a specific shelter to accommodate sinks and washing facilities in an open outdoor environment. This would be used by students for washing boots, bikes, equipment etc at the Centre. Therefore meaning people could wash up without the need to enter the main complex.
The main criteria was that the shelter followed the colour scheme of the centre (red). Yet needed to be as inconspicuous as possible.
Broxap achieved this by supplying one of their Blox A format shelters. The shelter is clad in FSC® (FSC-C122338) Vertical Planed and Pressure Treated Eastern European Red Wood certified timber cladding on a galvanized steel structure. This was powder coated red to match the centres colour scheme. trapezoidal roof cladding was used to clad the roof. The washing sinks, water supply etc were installed by others.
The unit had to fit into a particular area/floorplan which was awkward due to a nearby ramp and step area. The Blox was an excellent solution due to its modular versatility and cost effectiveness.
