As part of the Transport for Greater Manchester Initiative (TfGM) this secure cycle hub is based on the same design and concept as the Bury and Ashton-under-Lyne hubs designed and installed by Broxap.
Featuring a swipe card access door, internal CCTV monitoring and lighting this hub is designed to allow users to become part of a scheme which allows the use of the hub only via a dedicated swipe card. Cycle are secured inside by a users own locking mechanisim to Sheffield stands. Lockable banks of lockers are also provided inside to allow a user to store helmets, over jackets etc and lock them away with their own padlock.
High visibility decals promote the hub to passers by and gives a clear message and information regarding the TfGM scheme.
Broxap were awarded the contract to produce a further Hub at River Street, Rochdale, this again followed the same specification as previous TfGM Hubs across the Greater Manchester area.
