The installation of new Derby E Litter Bins at Silksworth Recreational Park was aimed at providing visitors with a cleaner and more hygienic environment.
Broxap Street Furniture supported Sunderland City Council’s Healthy City Plan by installing new bins that were specifically designed to meet the needs of the visitors. The bins were strategically placed in areas that received the most foot traffic, such as playgrounds, picnic areas and walking trails.
The new bins are very appealing and have a large aperture for easier disposal of larger items, reducing the likelihood of spillage or mess. It also makes it easier for people with disabilities or mobility issues to dispose of their waste. Broxap takes pride in creating inclusive street furniture.
The galvanised steel litter and recycling bins also feature ashtrays to reduce cigarette waste and a protective powder coated exterior in green to blend with the natural surroundings of the park.
The results of Broxap’s new bins were very impressive. Within a few weeks, the park was noticeably cleaner. By placing the bins in high-traffic areas and making them visually appealing, people were using the bins more frequently and disposing of their waste.
