Incorporating a school, a community and support hub and a training and development centre, The Beacon welcomes a wide range of people through its doors every day.
The school opened in 2016 following the federation of Foxwood and Highview School in Kent.
It now caters for 342 pupils aged three to 19 with profound, severe and complex needs (PSCN).
The hub plays host to multi agency support teams, including NHS and social services professionals, while the training centre offers a range of courses to Beacon staff, mainstream school teachers and other external groups.
Working for Bam Construction, Broxap Street Furniture designed, manufactured and installed a series of bespoke shelters to create functional and purposeful outdoor space.
A bespoke glazed Newcastle Gullwing canopy forms a pick up and drop off point at the front of the building, providing a direct link from reserved parking bays to The Beacon entrance.
Elsewhere in the school, a bespoke glazed Newcastle Monopitch canopy offers a covered play and learning area, suitable for a range of activities.
Each entrance point has its own welcoming canopy while our popular Wardale Cycle Shelter offers parking for ten bikes with the addition of a Senior Sheffield Cycle Rack.
Ten Sheffield Cycle Hoops provide visitors with a safe space to leave their bicycles.
Along the perimeter of the building, nine Roslin mild steel and timber seats are located, including five with additional armrests.
A total of ten root fixed Timber Bollards and eight Athena Litter Bins complete the exterior of the site.
