The Groves is a picturesque area located on the bank of the River Dee. It spans between the Old Dee Bridge and the Grosvenor Park and has been a popular spot for relaxation and boat trips for many years.

Recently, the Groves has transformed into a lively area with a great selection of cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Local artists often display their amazing artworks along the medieval wall that runs through a part of the Groves.

Chester Council decided to undertake a project to improve the overall experience of visitors and locals alike, as the river is a popular spot for picnics, walks, and other recreational activities.

They sought advice from Broxap, who were responsible for designing and producing many of their Eastgate cast iron and hardwood slat benches. These benches were placed all along the riverbank, providing comfortable seating and offering stunning views of the river.

A range of bins was strategically placed to encourage visitors to dispose of their rubbish responsibly. The chosen bins included our Pierhead Litters Bins and our Derby Double Litter Bins, both designed to be user-friendly and easy to maintain while promoting recycling in the busy area.

The installation of the benches and bins has helped to improve the overall experience of the riverbank, making it a more welcoming and enjoyable place for all.
