The University of Derby has a simple promise – to make a positive impact. Through their ground-breaking research, teaching excellence and commitment to sustainable living, they are changing lives for the better.

Broxap was tasked with enhancing the bicycle parking infrastructure at the university, as there was a need to meet the growing number of students and staff who were opting to use their bikes for cycling to campus.

A number of our Cambridge Cycle Shelters and Apollo Cycle Shelters were installed around the entrance of the Markeaton Street Campus. This is where their Engineering, Computing and Mathematics courses are based, as well as Art, Design, Media and Photography.

The shelters were designed with a sleek and modern aesthetic to complement the campus architecture, and constructed using durable, weather-resistant materials to ensure longevity and low maintenance. Each shelter was complemented with rows of Broxap’s Sheffield Cycle Stands, allowing people to securely lock their bikes in a variety of ways.

The project was also completed with our Maelor Trafflex Round High-Security Litter Bins to help keep the area clean and litter-free.

Broxap’s installation team worked efficiently to complete the project ahead of schedule, and the feedback from the university community has been overwhelmingly positive, with a significant increase in bicycle usage observed.

The success of the University of Derby installation not only underscores Broxap’s expertise in delivering tailored, high-quality cycle shelter solutions but also reinforces our commitment to promoting sustainable transportation options.
