Bespoke signage columns celebrate everything Worcester has to offer visitors and residents.
The columns, fingerpost arms and finials were created in partnership with Worcester BID as part of a project to highlight attractions and routes around the city.
Improved signage was called for by members of the BID who wanted a smart replacement for the existing signposts as well as additional directions to new locations.
The BID has been in operation since 2010 and aims to boost the trading conditions for businesses which contribute a BID levy.
Following an initial enquiry, Broxap Street Furniture took part in a number of design consultations with the BID and Worcestershire County Council.
A finial in the shape of the Black Worcester Pear was created to top a total of 49 signage columns in a nod to the distinctive fruit named after its dark, purple skin.
Text was also added around the posts as well as updated directional arms.
The signs highlight areas never promoted before and the routes were chosen to showcase as many businesses as possible along the way.
Before each fingerpost arm was manufactured, a graphic was created so it could be checked by the clients. More than 240 fingerpost arms were created in the £67,000 project.
The success of the signage scheme has led to an ongoing partnership with Worcester Bid and the council which add or change the individual posts as and when new attractions come on board.
Bespoke signage posts have also been created for other towns in the county.
